Mahindra LMM holds ground-breaking ceremony of EV facility in Telangana

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility (LMM), part of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), on Monday held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new manufacturing unit at its existing plant here.

A press release from the automaker said Telangana Minister for Industries KT Rama Rao was the chief guest.

This initiative comes in line with the announcement of an investment of Rs 1,000 crore in Telangana made by M&M in February this year. With this new facility, the company aims to build a state-of-the-art battery assembly line, produce power packs and manufacture electronic and drivetrain components for 3- and 4-wheel electric karts.

The facility will also provide job opportunities for 800 to 1,000 employees in the region.

Rama Rao said, EVs are an area of ​​focus for the Government of Telangana which is committed to developing the right infrastructure and ecosystem to promote and adopt EVs.

“This new facility will help popularize electric vehicles not only in Telangana but all over India. Congratulations to M&M on the opening of its new facility. I am sure this facility will go a long way in creating jobs and sustaining livelihoods,” said the minister.
