E-commerce platform Meesho crosses 500 mn downloads on iOS, Android
Mobile data analytics provider said e-commerce platform Meesho has become the world’s “fastest shopping app” to cross 500 million cumulative downloads across Google Play and the iOS App Store.
data.ai, formerly App Annie, said in a statement that the company achieved 500 million downloads in six years.
According to data.ai, more than half (274 million) of Meesho app downloads came in 2022.
“Indian e-commerce platform Meesho has emerged as the world’s fastest shopping app to surpass 500 million cumulative downloads across Google Play and iOS App Store combined, reaching the milestone in six years,” data.ai said.
According to data.ai, with a size of just 13.6MB, Meesho android app is India’s lightest e-commerce app on Play Store, which makes it compatible with budget smartphones.

Meesho, CXO for User Growth Megha Agarwal said India has 750-800 million people with smartphones and internet access, and it represents a huge opportunity for the company to spark the next wave of e-commerce adoption in India.
“This achievement is a great affirmation of our User-First motto, which helps us continually identify and address customer pain points to deliver a great online shopping experience,” said Agarwal.
Earlier, Meesho announced that it has registered 140 million annual user transactions on its platform in 2022.
