Daimler enters pre-owned market with launch of ‘BharatBenz Certified’

Commercial vehicle maker Daimler India said on Monday that the company has entered into the pre-owned business segment under its new ‘BharatBenz Certified’ brand.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stuttgart-based Daimler Truck AG.

The new business initiative will refurbish and sell pre-owned BharatBenz vans to customers.

To be initially available at Trident Trucking in Bengaluru, the BharatBenz Authorized Program will be expanded to other dealerships across the country.

“Our enduring and comprehensive market research practice has drawn our attention to the aspirations of customers who want to purchase BharatBenz Pre-Owned Trucks. This need in the market has led to the idea of launching BharatBenz Certified – a Pre-Owned Business CV initiative…,” Bharat Benz Marketing, Sales & Service Customers, President Rajaram K.

He said BharatBenz Certified will also be an incentive for its customers to upgrade their fleet to new BharatBenz vehicles which in turn creates an opportunity for customers who aspire to own safe and reliable pre-owned vehicles which will be as good as new.

Under this initiative, the company will conduct a rigorous 125-point quality check that will lead to a comprehensive technical procedure, repair and overhaul of vehicles.

Pre-Owned vehicles will be provided with a six-month warranty and will have a Pre-Delivery Detailed Inspection (PDI) prior to dispatch.

Customers will have the option to opt for an annual maintenance contract for their pre-owned BharatBenz range of trucks or transfer the existing warranty and AMC from the previous owner.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles said it also has a program called ‘BharatBenz Exchange’ which aims to offer customers who own commercial vehicles of various brands to switch to BharatBenz. BharatBenz Certification complements the BharatBenz Exchange Program in benefiting from the longer life cycle of commercial vehicles that customers can enjoy.

The company said that the buying and selling process approved by BharatBenz will be through a digital platform.
