Volvo Car’s sales in India increased by 33% in January-June period
Volvo Car India said on Wednesday that its sales grew 33 percent year-on-year to 1,089 units in the January-June period.
The company had delivered 818 units in the same period last year.
The automaker said in a statement that growth was primarily driven by the XC60, which saw a significant 35 percent increase resulting in 376 deliveries.
In addition, the fully assembled electric XC40 performed exceptionally well, with sales of 289 units in the first half of the year, accounting for 27 percent of the total volume.
“The performance in the first half is a promising indicator, which instills confidence that the coming months will yield even better results,” noted Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India.
He added that with the highly anticipated launch of the C40 Recharge electric model in August, the goal is to surpass its best year ever.
The introduction of the C40 Recharge is in line with Volvo’s commitment to achieving an all-electric range of cars by 2030.
