Telangana Horticultural University VC named head of oil palm research panel

B Neeraja Prabhakar, Vice Chancellor of Telangana State Horticultural University, has been appointed Chairman of the Palm Oil Research Advisory Committee (RAC) by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). You will hold this position for three years.

The 10-member Research Advisory Committee will guide the Indian Oil Palm Research Institute (Bedaviji, Andhra Pradesh) in formulating its research plans, based on the problems faced by oil palm growers.

Neeraja Prabhakar is also a member of the Telangana Oil Palm Advisory Committee, which advises the Government of Telangana on promoting oil palm cultivation.

“Telangana will address the shortage of edible oil in the country,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.
