Manchester United keen on signing 25-year-old goalkeeper this summer: Reports

According to a report by Sports Zone via Get French Football News, Manchester United are interested in signing OGC Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka this summer. The Polish shot stopper looks set to leave his French employers this season as he enters the final year of his contract with them.

The English giants are coming on the back of a generationally poor season with Andre Onana in goal and see the 25-year-old as a potential successor and at least viable competition for the Cameroonian moving forward. However, the Red Devils will have competition for Bulka’s signature, with AS Monaco and Galatasaray also interested in signing him.

Bulka joined OGC Nice in the summer of 2022 after an initial loan move for just €2 million from French champions Paris Saint-Germain. He has seen his valuation soar to a reported €20 million, as per Transfermarkt.

With his 30 clean sheets in 89 appearances for the French side across competitions, Manchester United will hope they can reach an agreement for his services ahead of next season to improve their team.

Former Manchester United keeper urges target to snub Red Devils

Former Manchester United keeper Ben Foster has urged Bryan Mbuemo to snub the Red Devils in favor of a move to Tottenham Hotspur. The English giants endured a poor campaign that saw them finish in 15th place, their lowest league finish in 50 years and also lost the Europa League final to Spurs.

Speaking recently on his Fozcast podcast, the former Wrexham keeper said via the Manchester Evening News:

“I would say that if you want to be part of something that’s going to make you a better footballer and work hard and be part of a team, then go to Spurs with Thomas Frank.

“If you are happy picking up your wages knowing that there’s going to be an awful lot more pressure, a lot more eyes on you, a lot more judgement and failure is just part of what they do, then you’d go to Manchester United.”

Foster concluded by insisting he was not calling Mbuemo’s quality into question, saying:

“I’m not questioning Bryan Mbeumo about his ability, about his mentality or about what he’s like as a person. There’s nothing to show me that I should have any worries about it. Whoever he goes and plays for, I think he would improve them and he gets into the starting line-up.

“He’s got a proven record of being fit and scoring goals. He could get into pretty much all of the 20 Premier League teams and I think he starts, that’s how good I think Bryan Mbeumo is.”

Bryan Mbuemo enjoyed a fantastic season with Brentford, bagging 20 EPL goals for the Bees. The Cameroonian reportedly indicated at the start of the transfer window that he would prioritize a move to Manchester United despite interest from other clubs in his services.
