Eye on exports, Bikano launches frozen products in international market
Snack and canned food manufacturer Picano has launched a range of frozen items into the international market, aiming to increase export sales by 40 percent year on year, reports said. Economic Times (ET).
With this move, Picano hopes to capitalize on the prospects in the international market and expects sales of Rs 200 crore in 2023-2024, she said.
The demand for Picano products has gradually increased over the years in the international market as not only Indians but even locals have started consuming their products. The consumer goods giant hopes to increase its overseas market share by up to 25 percent with this strategy.
“Picano is taking another step towards being involved in every food occasion by expanding into the international frozen food segment. With the increasing popularity of frozen snacks and meals around the world, we are aware of the huge potential in this field,” said Manish Agarwal, Director, Pecano, Pekanervala Foods, According to media reports.
He added, “Our focus remains on catering to the needs of retail consumers and to that end, we have introduced affordable packages of 300g and 400g, comprising a wide range of delicious snacks, desserts and frozen items.”
Aggarwal added that the company’s marketing approach is simple: it adapts to changing consumer trends.
As customers increasingly embrace digital channels, we will adjust our marketing efforts accordingly. Our strategy includes a broad range of marketing channels, including above-the-line (ATL), below-the-line (BTL) marketing channels, and digital platforms, ensuring a consistent presence across multiple touchpoints and securing a significant portion of the international frozen market, he added.
With its frozen products, Picano has set its sights in many countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. Picano intends to cater to the different tastes and preferences of people all over the world by expanding its reach into these regions.
