2000 PACs to open PM Jan Aushadhi Kendras
The Center decided to allow the opening of 2,000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Ushadi Kendras across the country.
The decision was taken in a meeting of Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah with Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandavia.
According to a statement by the centre, 2,000 PACS across the country will be slated to open Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras. The first 1000 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras will open by August 2023 and another 1000-odd by December this year.
The center added in a statement that the decision “will increase the association’s income and create job opportunities.” But it will also provide affordable medicines to people, especially those who live in rural areas.
