Visakhapatnam to host global meet on irrigation in November
Visakhapatnam will host the 25thy The International Conference on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) November 1-8, 2023.
The conference will be organized as a joint initiative of the Union and State Governments. The conference will be held by the International Committee for International Development under the title “Addressing Water Scarcity in Agriculture”.
Discussions will revolve around alternative water resources that can be exploited for irrigated agriculture, farm technologies to increase water productivity, evaluation of irrigation systems, limited use of water for irrigation, and different systems followed by other countries.
According to ICID K Vice President Yella Reddy, 1street and 6y ICID conferences were held in 1951 and 1966 in India, and this global event is being hosted here 57 years later. About 500 delegates from various countries are expected to attend, apart from 700 artistic representatives from across the country, according to a statement.
