Tata Steel UISL spearheads measure to prevent dengue in Jamshedpur

Tata Steel UISL, a 100 percent subsidiary of Tata Steel, said on Monday that the company is taking measures to combat the spread of dengue fever and other vector-borne diseases in the monsoon season in the city of Jamshedpur.

The company said in a statement that Tata Steel UISL has implemented a comprehensive strategy for the prevention and control of dengue transmission.

The main activities undertaken by Tata Steel UISL included strict monitoring to identify and destroy mosquito larvae in residential areas.

Trained teams conduct thorough inspections and take action to eliminate potential breeding sites. The statement said that from April to June this year, a total of 180,062 households were covered under surveillance. Among them, mosquito larvae were found in 4,193 homes.

Besides, Tata Steel UISL conducts extensive searches for Culex mosquito breeding sites in outdoor stagnant waters, drains, ditches and river basins.
