Syngenta unveils new crop protection solutions for paddy, cotton and vegetable farmers

Syngenta India has unveiled its state-of-the-art plant protection solutions – Incipio and Simudis – for rice, cotton and vegetable growers. These advanced products, based on the innovative PLINAZOLIN® technology, provide an effective defense against various pests, ensuring improved yield and crop quality. The company said in a statement that it was developed to meet the challenges arising from climate change and efficiently resist pests, which are responsible for large crop losses every year.

Incipio, an advanced insecticide that effectively combats new species of stem borers and leafhoppers attacking rice crops, while Simodis offers a reliable cotton and vegetable solution against sucking insects and lepidoptera such as butterflies and moths, and is particularly effective on vegetables such as chili peppers, brinjal, cotton, ground nut, soybean and red gram.

Pests can lead to yield losses of 30 to 40 percent if they are not effectively controlled at the right time. Incipio and Simodis are our newest solutions to help solve many pest problems for our growers. We are pleased to introduce alternative solutions that will provide effective control for a longer duration of resistant pests,” said Mr. Susheel Kumar, Country President and Managing Director, Syngenta India.

KC Ravi, Chief Sustainability Officer, Syngenta India said, “Due to the dire need for comprehensive solutions, Syngenta India introduced Incipio and Simodis, specifically designed to address the unique challenges faced by rice and vegetable growers in the country and make the country a leading producer and exporter of many other vegetables.”

The new products provide a broad spectrum, effective long-term control against multiple pests, which in turn helps reduce the number of applications. “With the launch of our new products, we aim to provide Indian farmers with reliable and effective plant protection solutions, enabling them to increase yields, improve crop quality, save labor cost and secure their livelihood,” Susil added.

Based on PLINAZOLIN® technology, a new active ingredient that protects plant health with outstanding performance on a wide range of harmful pests affecting major crops, Incipio and Simodis have a very good tank mix and can be mixed with other fungicides if necessary.

Bikramjit Singh, Chief Marketing Officer, Syngenta India, said Incipio is taking the lead in combating stem borer and leaf cutter, two common pests that wreak havoc on paddy fields. By providing effective control, it ensures that crops grow vigorously and healthily, free from the devastating effects of these pests.

According to Kumar, Incipio and Simodis also offer additional benefits to growers as their sunlight fastness and rain-resistant properties allow for longer spray times and reduced application frequency. This, he said, enhances resource efficiency, saves valuable time and reduces environmental impact.
