Srikrishnan Harihara Sarma assumes charge as Karnataka Bank MD

Srikrishnan Harihara Sarma takes over as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karnataka Bank Limited Friday.

On May 26th The bank has informed the exchanges that the Board of Directors has appointed Srikrishnan Harihara Sarma as an additional Director to take over as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Bank as of the date he assumed responsibility.

In this regard, we would like to inform that Mr. Srikrishnan Harihara Sarma has assumed responsibility today i.e. 9th June 2023, as General Manager and CEO of the Bank.

The bank then announced that the appointment is effective from the date he assumed responsibility and would last for three years. She said that the appointment is subject to the approval of the shareholders at the next annual general meeting or within three months from the date of assuming responsibility, whichever is earlier.

Sarma brings nearly four decades of experience in commercial, retail and transaction banking, technology and payments. He previously held key positions at HDFC Bank Ltd, YES Bank Ltd, and Jio Payments Bank Ltd.

At HDFC Bank Ltd, he was part of the founding management team and was involved in setting up corporate and retail banking, treasury and capital markets infrastructure businesses.

At YES Bank Ltd he has been instrumental in creating the commercial banking infrastructure. At Jio Payments Bank Ltd, he served as Managing Director and CEO and was responsible for submitting applications and coordinating license approvals with RBI.
