Quoting Sandeep Sabharwal, CEO of SLCM Group, the statement said: “We strive to make a significant impact on the lives of small farm owners and their families. During our analysis, we noted that women’s participation in agriculture and allied sectors remains poor, mainly due to the lack of access to credit and empowerment for stabilization. We also noticed that women lack decision-making power despite their ownership of land. Women in agriculture earn only 70 percent of the wages of men, which strongly indicates gender inequality in the field. The launch of the Kisandan Agri Finance business unit aims to address this pressing issue and ensure that women can lead socially and financially stable lives.”
