Shark Tank Season 1: Which shark honoured most number of deals? Check here

Namita Thapar, CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, honored the most deals as an investor, also called “Shark,” during the first season of Shark Tank, according to data from intelligence platform PrivateCircle.

Fewest trades were honored by Lenskart’s Peyush Bansal and Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal.

Altogether, out of 65 transaction commitments, only 40 percent (28) have been fulfilled. In terms of value, out of an investment commitment of Rs. 40 crore, only Rs. 17 crore was invested on July 12th this year.

The data was based on filings with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) through July 12.

The data showed that Thapar honored 13 of the 22 deals it committed to. Its conversion rate was 59 percent, the highest among the seven Sharks.

Second on the list was Ghazal Alaa from Mamareth with a conversion rate of 57 percent. I honored four of the seven deals I promised.

Aman Gupta of the boatswain was the third best performing shark on the list. He invested in 12 of the 28 startups he committed money to. Translates into an investment rate of 43 percent.

According to the results, Mittal invested in just seven companies after committing to 24 startups, placing it at the bottom of the table with a conversion rate of just 29 percent.

He was followed by Bansal, who honored nine of his 27 deals, taking his conversion rate to 33 per cent. Above Bansal, Ashneer Grover had a conversion rate of 38 percent after honoring eight out of 21 deals. The data showed that Grover invested Rs 2 crore in these 8 deals.

After the results were released, Grover took to Twitter and wrote, “I, Ashneer Grover, invested Rs 2.95 crore (via) 11 deals in Shark Tank Season 1. That makes me the second highest earning publisher, only after Namita Thapar, who was the highest in terms of absolute closes and (percentage). No surprises – Namita is an amazing payroll manager!”

According to a report before MoneycontrolPrivateCircle updated that data following the tweet. A company spokesperson said, “Given this new information, Ashneer’s total investment will become Rs 2.94 crore (includes Revamp Moto, In A CAN and The Yarn Bazaar). In light of this changed legal entity, the total investment value of Anupam Mittal will increase by Rs 25, total investment of 10 lakh for the Aman Gupakhta platform and 10 lakh for the Aman Gupakhta platform.”

However, this does not have a significant impact on the ranking.
