RBI launches financial inclusion dashboard
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday launched a financial inclusion dashboard called Antardrishti. This will provide the central bank with the insight required to assess and monitor progress on financial inclusion by defining relevant benchmarks.
The central bank said in a statement that this facility, launched by Governor Shaktikanta Das, will also enable the RBI to measure the extent of financial exclusion at granular levels across the country so that these areas can be addressed.
She added that the dashboard, which is for RBI internal use for the time being, will facilitate greater financial inclusion through a multi-stakeholder approach.
To measure the extent of financial inclusion, the Reserve Bank of India created the Financial Inclusion Index (FI) in 2021, based on three dimensions of financial inclusion – ‘Access’, ‘Usage’ and ‘Quality’.
