Paytm elevates Bhavesh Gupta as Chief Operating Officer and President
One97 Telecom Limited (OCL), which owns Paytm, elevated Bhavish Gupta to the position of Chief Operating Officer and President of the company.
In his role as President and Chief Operating Officer, Gupta will be responsible for leading the Lending, Insurance and Payments segments – Online, Offline, and Consumer Payments, driving key initiatives, including User Growth, Operational Risk, Fraud Risk, Compliance and Paytm, he said in the Deposit Exchange. .
Prior to this rise, Gupta was a Senior Vice President of the company. Gupta is a financial services professional with over 25 years of experience in building businesses from the ground up in Payments, Technology, Analytics Platforms, Retail Loans, Digital Lending, SME Banking, Retail Banking etc.

Prior to joining Paytm in 2020, Gupta held several leadership positions, including CEO of Clix Capital (formerly GE Capital), Head of SME & Business Banking at IDFC Bankand was also associated with ICC bank in different roles.
He graduated from the University of Delhi and has an MBA from the Institute of Management Studies, Indore.
In FY23, Paytm revenue grew by 61% YoY to Rs 7,990 crore, becoming the most profitable Indian company in the new era. In the fourth quarter of fiscal ’23, Paytm reported A 51% jump in revenue from operations at Rs.2,334 crore, while its operating profit was Rs.234 crore, including the UPI incentive for the full year recorded during the quarter.
