Offering all necessary assistance to Adani Wilmar: Jumbotail on FIR

A Jumbotail spokesperson said that Adani Wilmar had contacted the company about some of the alleged counterfeit products.

B2B e-commerce company Jumbotail said Sunday it was providing all necessary assistance to identify sellers whose counterfeit Fortune petroleum products had been shipped to its warehouse.

Edible oil company Adani Wilmar has filed a police complaint against Nexus Venture and Kalakar Capital-backed Jumbotail for allegedly distributing counterfeit products under its ‘Fortune’ brand name.

A Jumbotail spokesperson said that Adani Wilmar had contacted the company about some of the alleged counterfeit products.

“As soon as we received their communication, we checked our systems and proactively shared details of the inventory available at one of our locations. Based on our information, they visited our website to inspect the inventory. We continue to provide all assistance to the Adani team to identify the original source of the vendors from whom the products were purchased,” said the spokesperson.

Adani Wilmar said on Saturday that he had filed an FIR through their agency against Jumbotail Pvt Ltd which reported the distribution of counterfeit products on the latter’s platform.

Based on this complaint, law enforcement authorities immediately raided the Jumbotail warehouse, where alarming quantities of counterfeit products bearing the Fortune brand name, Adani Wilmar’s flagship brand, were seized.

Adani Wilmar said the seized products included 126 bottles of Fortune Kacchi Ghani mustard oil (1-liter container), 37 counterfeit refined soybean oil (1-liter container), and 16 bottles of mustard oil (1-liter container) without caps.

A Jumbotail spokesperson said it has a zero-tolerance policy towards fake products and takes strict measures to ensure only genuine products are sold through its platform.

“We will continue to provide all necessary assistance to Adani Wilmar and law enforcement authorities to trace the original source of the alleged counterfeit products,” the spokesperson said.
