Nomura India’s Head of Investment Banking Utpal Oza steps down: Report
NEW DELHI (Reuters) – Nomura Bank’s head of investment banking, Otpal Oza, has resigned from the company, sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
Sources said Amit Thawani, Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking Coverage, took over from Oza.
The company did not respond to a request for comment.
In the past few years, Oza has helped, among other deals, Nomura sell ASK Wealth Management to Blackstone and diagnostics company Thyrocare to healthcare company PharmEasy.
The sources added that he has no plans to join a competing company and will oversee the transition at Nomura over the next few months.
This is Nomura India’s second-highest review this year, after it appointed a new head of capital markets in January.
