Lenovo opens digital centre for millets farming in Kerala

LenovoOn Thursday, he inaugurated a digital center as part of the Action for Humanity in India project, at the IHRD College of Applied Sciences, Kanthalore in Kerala. The “Lenovo Digital Center for Kanthalloor Millets” aims to become a vital hub, providing farmers with essential information and best practices in millet farming.

Project volunteers will provide digital access to information on government programs and millet cultivation methods, collect and analyze data to assess impacts of solutions and raise awareness of market connections to key stakeholders within the local community. This intervention will improve technological access for society as a whole, and address the overarching challenge of the “digital divide” in the region. A digital center setup includes a wide range of hardware by Lenovo with access to solutions and services such as Lenovo CO2 Offset Service and cloud solutions.

The Digital Center was inaugurated by guest speaker Advocate A Raja, MLA and PT Mohandas, Chairman Panchayat, in the presence of volunteers from Lenovo India and IHRD college. Shailendra Katyal, Managing Director, Lenovo India, said, “Lenovo’s Action for Humanity initiative is dedicated to bridging the digital divide. Our aim is to empower farmers, enabling them to boost millet cultivation. We aspire to inspire them to adopt this nutritious product ‘Shri Anna’ and revitalize its production, enabling It makes it scalable and sustainable.”
