DICGC asks insured banks to display its logo, QR code on website

The Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) has required all insured banks to display the DICGC logo and QR code associated with its website on the online banking portals and websites of the banks.

DICGC said the decision, which was taken in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, was taken with the aim of raising awareness about deposit insurance in a focused and sustainable manner.

She added, “This will enable customers to easily identify the banks covered by the Dubai Convention and Exhibition Center’s deposit insurance system and facilitate timely access to information related to deposit insurance.”

All banks are required to comply with the circular which is effective from 1st September 2023. All commercial banks including branches of foreign banks operating in India, local banks and regional rural banks are insured by DICGC.

DICGC is a specialized division of the Reserve Bank of India and the insurance company for bank customers’ deposits. It promotes public awareness of deposit insurance through its website, display of printed materials and through several financial awareness campaigns with RBI.
