Centre launches mobile app for PM-Kisan e-KYC
On Thursday, the center launched the PM-Kisan mobile application with face verification. It also launched a campaign calling for youth to come forward and help farmers achieve verification through the app.
Launching the app in a post, the Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, said: “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman NidhiPM-Kisan is an ambitious and popular income support center scheme for farmers. Through this app, he said, farmers can easily complete e-KYC by scanning faces without the need for OTP or fingerprint. He added that they can help another 100 farmers implement e-KYC.
The center has already expanded the ability of farmers to perform e-KYC for state government officials so that each employee can complete the e-KYC process for 500 farmers.
Farmer arrives
Tomar said the PM-Kisan program is a very comprehensive and ambitious scheme and the state governments have diligently played their part in its implementation. “As a result, we are in a position to pay the installments of the program to about 8.5 crore farmers after KYC. The more accurate this platform is, the more useful it will be for PM-Kisan and whenever any benefit has to be provided to the farmers, the complete data will be available with the central and state governments. States, so that the problem of verifying the data does not arise,” he said.
Tomar said it has only become possible to provide benefits to such a large number of farmers with the help of technology.
Under Prime Minister Kisan, the farmers get INR 6,000 per annum in three equal instalments, transferred directly through bank accounts linked to Aadhaar. So far, Rs 2.42 crore has been transferred to the accounts of more than 11 crore farmers out of which more than Rs 3 crore are women.
