Bayer, Crystal Crop launch products to tackle plant hoppers in paddy

Bayer CropScience and Crystal Crop Protection have launched new products Curbix Pro and Kollar, respectively, to help farmers tackle pests such as plant hoppers on rice farms.

In India, rice is spread in the brown plant hopper, or white-backed plant hopper, which can lead to severe crop losses. To address this issue, Bayer and Crystal will provide growers with an innovative product, containing a unique blend of dual active ingredients against plant jumpers. With this dual action, farmers will be able to ensure that crop losses are reduced, leading to higher yields, Bayer said in a statement.

Bayer and Crystal came together in 2018 to embark on a collaborative project to boost the productivity of rice and cotton farmers in India. Under this collaboration, Bayer has provided Crystal access to the latest innovations, while building on its manufacturing and development strengths, it has helped Crystal bring new solutions to the Indian market.
