Akasa Air commences daily flight operations from Kolkata: Report
In a statement, the airline said that Akasa Air on Thursday commenced daily flight services from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI) in Kolkata.
The eastern city is the airline’s 17th destination and the second in West Bengal after Bagdogra.
The airline has commenced non-stop flights between Kolkata, Guwahati and Bengaluru. On the inaugural flight, 174 passengers traveled from Kolkata to the largest city of Assam and 167 passengers arrived in Kolkata from the capital of Karnataka.
On a daily basis, the airline’s flight will arrive in Kolkata from Bengaluru at 5.15pm and depart to Guwahati at 5.55pm. A statement issued by the institute stated that the return flight from Guwahati will arrive in Kolkata at 9.10 pm and depart for Bengaluru at 9.50 pm.
“Akasa has introduced services like a café and allowed pets on board,” said Belson Coutinho, co-founder and head of marketing and experience of the company.
“We are delighted to launch operations from Kolkata, our second destination in West Bengal,” said Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Commercial Director of the airline.
