Larger under-rice areas were reported from Madhya Pradesh (7.07 litres), Bihar (5.64 litres), Uttar Pradesh (4.07 litres), Telangana (1.20 litres), and West Bengal (0.62 litres). However, smaller areas have been reported from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh.

The area under coarse grain increased by 4.8 percent to 134.91 liters (128.75 liters). Corn is also up, at 63 liters from 62.89 liters a year ago. Cotton came in at 109.69 liters as of Friday, down from 109.99 liters a year ago. Sugarcane acreage increased by 5 percent at 56 litres.
