Adani Group planning world’s largest, 20 GW hybrid energy plant in Gujarat

Adani Group will build the world’s largest hybrid power bank in Khavda desert located in Kutch district of Gujarat state, Financial Express (FE) It has been reported. Explaining the plans to build the hybrid power bank, Chairman of the Adani Group said: “We are now building the largest hybrid renewable energy complex in the world – in the middle of the desert – in Khavda. It will be the most complex and ambitious project that we have ever undertaken.”

Gautam Adani added that the company intends to build the facility faster than any project in the implementation date. The project will be developed under Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL).

Emphasizing the company’s role and intention to play a major role in the country’s march towards net zero emissions, Adani said that AGEL already has the record of operating the world’s largest solar-wind hybrid project of 2.14 GW in Rajasthan to its credit, according to the report. added.

The Adani Group Chairman said the group continues to focus on large-scale energy-saving green power generation.

Talking about another Adani Enterprises company, Kutch Copper, Adani said that the company is building an integrated copper smelting and refining complex with an annual capacity of 0.5 million tons per year. Detailing the company’s ambitions, Adani said that Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) will commission India’s largest transshipment hub at Vizhinjam, Kerala state in the next 12-24 months, FE The report added.

Adani also spoke about the Hindenburg fiasco, which led to a collapse in the stock valuation of the Adani Group. “On the eve of Republic Day this year, a short seller in the US published a report selling our shares just as we were planning to launch the largest follow-up public offering in India’s history,” said the Chairman.

“The report was a mixture of purposeful misinformation and false allegations, most of which date from 2004 to 2015. They were all settled by the relevant authorities at that time,” Al-Adani said.
