Thomas Cook India rejigs top management, appoints Mahesh Iyer as MD & CEO
Thomas Cook (India) Travel Services Limited on Wednesday announced a high-profile revamp with the appointment of Madhavan Menon as Chief Executive Officer while Mahesh Iyer has been elevated to the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
The company’s board of directors at its meeting on Wednesday approved the reappointment and appointment of Menon as CEO in the full-time director category from his previous appointment as chairman and managing director, said Thomas Cook (India) in a regulatory filing.
She added that his appointment will be for a new five-year term, starting from July 5, 2023, to July 4, 2028, and he will not retire by rotation.
Further, the Board of Directors has approved Menon to continue as CEO upon reaching the age of 70 on 12th February 2025, during his tenure.
The company said its board also approved the reappointment of Iyer to the position of managing director and chief executive officer from his previous appointment as CEO and CEO.
Ayer’s re-appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer is effective from 5 July 2023 for a new term of five years.
The filing said the new appointments of both Menon and Iyer are subject to approval by the company’s shareholders at the next 46th annual meeting scheduled for August 23, 2023.
