The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) pre-positioned 12 teams with boats, loggers, communications equipment, etc. and kept 15 teams on standby. The Indian Coast Guard and Navy have deployed ships and helicopters for relief and search and rescue operations.
Army Air Force and Engineering units, with boats and rescue equipment, stand ready to deploy. Surveillance planes and helicopters carry out sequential surveillance along the coast. Disaster Relief Teams (DRTs) and Medical Teams (MTs) for the Army, Navy and Coast Guard are on standby.
